Background

ESMA Is Done with Its Binary Options Temporary Intervention Measures

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has posted a notice titled, ESMA Ceases Renewal Of Product Intervention Measure Relating To Binary Options. As described by the title, this notice states that the regulator is done renewing its temporary ban on the marketing, distribution, and sale of binary options throughout the European Union.
This does not mean that the ESMA has changed its mind about binary options in any way, nor does it reflect any optimistic state of affairs for binary options brokers or traders. The reason the ESMA has abandoned the temporary measures is because they are no longer needed to prevent binary options trading.
As the notice explains:
As most national competent authorities (NCAs) have taken permanent national product intervention measures relating to binary options that are at least as stringent as ESMA’s measure, ESMA will not renew its temporary prohibition.
The regulator also has not lost interest in the situation, adding that it will “continue to monitor activities in relation to these and other related speculative products to determine whether any other EU-wide measures may be needed.”
We will continue to post updates here regarding further actions by ESMA and other regulators.

Cashbob scammer is now Simplebitx scam ples be careful!

Hello, I'm from Amsterdam I original posted this review in Dutch but now I am trying to using translator to English because moderator forum asked me to post in Engllish.
A big scam takes place under the name "www.simplebitx.com". This is a 1 year old crypto-broker with many red flags on it, one of the biggest is that it is run by former convicted lending company Cashbob and people who were exposed years ago by the Dutch AMF authority. They also had a binary options business that I was a member of in 2014 and my contact was called "Mike B". This company was called Optie and had to be closed because it was involved in freezing customer account and clearing customer balance! The usual binary option tactics, last year. As a partner I was told that I was paid on volumes, but it was about losses from traders that I sent them! I stopped when I discovered this and the managers of Option NL held all my payments and even threatened me. To my great fear after I had spoken and read with the Dutch regulators, I had to find out that it is in the culture of Optie to threaten their affiliates and customers, in fact their main person Mike Batenburg was caught and fined by the AMF for sending loan sharks to peoples homes to hurt them and to blackmail! I am so disgusted to be associated with this, so I thought I would let people know that they are back now after Optie NL and 365 Trading was closed, to try to extort people into cryptocurrency and bitcoin now.

If you go to their new scam website www.simplebitx.com, you can see that not everything is alright. They have an office of the Marshall Islands organization that is a virtual office but claims to be based in Bulgaria, but if you check the Bulgarian business register (http://www.info-clipper.com/en/company/search/bulgaria.bg.html), the company SBX Services Bulgaria EOOD does not exist!
It is a falsehood name! No surprise, but they do not only take customers from my country Nederland (I registered easily and could trade as long as my deposit was less than 2000 euros, so their KYC is not real) but my biggest concern was that they claim to be established in the EU, but they are not AND they take American traders!!!)
Proof: https://i.gyazo.com/9402ffd3abdcf9a8a0c25c073ed13dad.png and they claim they offer CFDs, but it is simple binary options !!! Proof: https://i.gyazo.com/a1a369ca91aec2420e5f305f3edb5462.png

If you contacting them to request information about the team or anything else, there is no responses. I wrote them from https://www.simplebitx.com/contact/ and you see that there is no company registration number that proves that they are in the EU or something. I signed up for a demo account and the first screen I saw asked me to deposit!

I am currently a trading fan and run my own FB community and coming to cryptocurrency after the binary options business in Europa was killed by the ESM. So far I have started trading on Bitmex and am happy that nobody in my group has been scammed. I am not yet a branch of Bitmex and I want to spread my risk for my community. I sincerely hope that the information above has helped. Please communicate I am here to help.

ESMA Is Again Renewing Its Binary Options Ban for 3 Additional Months

Most traders around the world are aware that the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has had a ban on binary options trading in effect since July 2, 2018. The ESMA has announced that it will extend this ban yet again for another three months starting on April 2, 2019.
The ESMA press release on this topic states:
ESMA has carefully considered the need to extend the intervention measure currently in effect. It considers that a significant investor protection concern related to the offer of binary options to retail clients continues to exist.
In short, there have been no significant changes in the way that the ESMA perceives binary options. For this reason, there will be no change in the policy for the foreseeable future. The ESMA will of course need to revisit the ban again in three month’s time to decide whether to renew it once more. There are no reasons to expect that they will not.

ESMA to Renew Ban on Binary Options Again

If you are (or were) a binary options trader in Europe, you are doubtless aware that binary options have been banned across the entire European Union by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Rather than declaring the ban to last forever, the ESMA has been renewing it every three months since it was introduced. Now it has decided to renew the ban yet again.
The most recent renewal took place on October 2, 2018, and covers the three-month period lasting until January 2, 2019. The renewal will therefore go into effect on January 2, and will last for an additional three months.
You can read about the decision in a press release from the ESMA. Explaining the reason for the renewal, the press release stated, “ESMA has carefully considered the need to extend the intervention measure currently in effect. It considers that a significant investor protection concern related to the offer of binary options to retail clients continues to exist.”
At this point, it seems likely that the ESMA will continue with the renewals on the ban for the indefinite future.

ESMA Renews Binary Options Ban With a Few Exceptions

Those who have been keeping up with the developments involving the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and binary options are aware that a full ban on binary trading throughout the EU went into effect on July 2 this year.
You may also be aware that this ban was provisional, created to last for a three-month trial period, during which the ESMA would continue to evaluate the situation and decide whether to extend it.
Now the ESMA has come to a decision about the next three months, as announced in a news release dated August 24.
The ESMA will extend the ban for three more months beginning on October 2. Binary options trading will remain prohibited in the EU member nations through January 2, 2019. At that point, the ESMA will assess again.
The upside for binary options companies and traders is that ESMA has decided to create a few exceptions. You may read about them in detail in the linked news release, but they are summarized below.
And:
Be sure to read the press release yourself so that you can identify trading opportunities which will be legal during the next three-month period. Stay tuned for more updates.

My opinions on how Trade and Diplomacy are handled in the TW series, and how I'd like to see them improve.

I've played the TW series for years and years, but recently I've been trying out some historical "X4" style games like Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis series, and it's motivated me to write down this cacophony of disjointed thoughts on how trade and diplomacy could (and in my opinion should) be improved in the TW series.
My biggest problem is the simplistic, binary nature of diplomacy in TW. Trade specifically seems to be inanely simplified into the most basic of binary "trade on/trade off" formats, that simply doesn't make sense to me. There's a TL;DR bit at the bottom if you want to avoid all of this rambling.
Realistically, trade happens as a natural course of human development. Those who own resources will want to sell that resource for money, and will find way to do so; others, merchants, will find rare and exotic resources to buy in one place, and sell for a profit in others.
Therefore, the first of my suggestions is that trade should occur by default; if a region has the physical means, such as roads, rivers or sea ports, they should automatically have trade flowing through them. This also includes different regions within the same country; people in Rome still love Greek olives, whether or not it's Rome controlling Greece or an independant Greek nation.
Secondly, I'd suggest that an algorithm be developed that determines the profitability of trade. This would be done by determining A) the source of trade items, B) the rate of production of trade items, C) the availability of trade items, and D) the demand of trade items. This doesn't have to be very complex; all you need to do is attach a more-or-less arbitrary "demand" level of all trade items, regional modifiers based on either historic or arbitrary "affinity" for those items, and then determine "supply"; high demand, low supply items are more expensive, and items that have a large amount of supply for a long enough time will develop demand in emerging markets. With that done, you can determine the overall "natural" amount of trade flowing across borders and trade routes and ports, and this acts as a sort of universal backdrop.
Next comes the player element, or rather, how to turn this "background process" into an actual game mechanic. This can be done in a number of ways, the first and most important of which is control over the region a resource is produced from. While a government will not usually directly control that production, they do make money via taxes and tariffs on the trade of those items, and so having control over the actual privite landlords and nobility who own the resource will generate you great amounts of money.
The same is true for players in control of the states who import resources; they earn money via taxes and tariffs on the traders and merchants who are bringing these resources into your country. And in so doing, both ends of this trade deal profit -- therefore, it's in their best interests to foster trade.
But sometimes things go south, and you don't want to help an enemy state make money on an item. So beyond actually fighting to control the production of a trade resource, my next suggestion deals with economic warfare, and allowing players to raise or lower tariffs on particular trade items, or outright ban their imports as a form of economic warfare against rivals. This also necessitates having more control over your own country's development of natural resources, allowing for a more nuances and IMHO rewarding mechanic than "trade on/trade off".
So for example, let's say that State A goes to war with State B. State A is rather large, with a large population of people who have automatically been determined to have a rather high demand for Olives. State B is a major producer of olives in the world, and makes mad dosh on the export of their olives across the known world. My suggestion is that there are several things a player playing as State A could do in this situation.
The first is that you could increase tariffs and taxes on the import and sale of olives, to tip the balance of profit ratios in your favour -- you're still trading with your enemy, but he's also trading with you. The second is that you can outright ban the import of olives from that entire country, delivering a major blow to the economy of your enemy, but at the same time increasing unhappiness in your own population -- not just because they can't get olives and are mad about it, but also because of the resulting boom of black market olive trading creating more crime and corruption in your cities.
The third option is to develop your own olive production, investing in local olive growers to start exporting your own olives for a lower price. Not only do you make money this way, you also hurt your enemy's profits by increasing supply. The downside, though, is that the profits you make doing this wouldn't be as great as if you invested in a produce that was in shorter supply, such as Wine or Wheat or whatever.
The fourth option is to simply invade the country and seize the resources, taxing the olive producers yourself and controlling trade in that item. Again, as trade occurs between regions automatically and regardless of ownership, you should still make money by "trading with yourself".
This system, I'd hope, would provide much more engaging and rewarding experience for players, where they can actually micromanage aspects of their economy with specific goals, beyond simply mass-spamming every country in the world with trade requests every turn until they accept.
And a TL;DR: In short, I'd like to see:
Thanks for your time, and I hope to see lots of comments and discussion.
